We sue banks.
Unauthorized charges. Nationwide help from a consumer law firm.
A bank denied your fraud claim. A lender reported an account that isn't yours. An error is still hurting you after you disputed it. We help consumers challenge these problems and pursue legal claims when the facts support them.
Nationwide help
We help consumers across the United States with unauthorized charges, working with local or co-counsel where required.
Representation depends on the facts, applicable law, and the appropriate counsel arrangements.
How we take on banks and lenders
Different problems call for different legal approaches. Depending on what happened, a claim may involve a bank, a lender, a credit reporting company, or more than one business.
Unauthorized debit-card charges and electronic transfers
Someone used your debit card or moved money from your account without permission, and the bank rejected your dispute. We review what happened, how you reported it, and how the bank responded. Transfers you personally authorized, even after a scam, can raise different legal issues.
Unauthorized-charge disputes →Credit-card fraud and billing errors
An unfamiliar charge, a duplicate transaction, or an incorrect amount can become a serious problem when the card issuer will not address it. We review credit-card disputes and whether the issuer followed the applicable billing-error rules.
Credit-card dispute help →Credit report errors and identity-theft accounts
A bank or lender may report an account that is not yours, an incorrect balance, or payments inaccurately. We review inaccurate reporting and disputes that did not fix the problem, including potential claims involving the company that supplied the information and the credit reporting agencies.
Credit reporting and FCRA claims →Denied fraud claims and reversed provisional credit
Your bank gave you a temporary refund, then took it back. Or it closed your dispute without a clear explanation. We review the investigation, notices, and reasons for the decision. A denial or reversal alone does not establish that the bank violated the law.
Provisional credit reversals →Check washing, altered checks, and forged checks
A stolen or changed check can leave money missing from your account. We review the check, the bank's response, and the circumstances of the loss. These disputes depend on state law, account terms, and how promptly the problem was reported.
Check washing and altered checks →Errors in bank-account screening reports
Incorrect information in a ChexSystems or Early Warning Services report can interfere with opening a bank account. We review inaccurate reporting and unresolved disputes. Being denied an account does not, by itself, mean a legal violation occurred.
ChexSystems and Early Warning report errors →We also evaluate certain high-interest loan and lender disputes. Available claims depend on the state, lender, and loan. Our existing usury guide addresses New Jersey law. New Jersey high-interest loan disputes
Helping consumers across the United States
Wherever you live in the United States, you can contact Kane Law Firm about unauthorized charges. We review these matters nationwide and work with local or co-counsel where required. We will assess your case and explain the representation arrangement before you decide to proceed.
Representation and available claims depend on the facts, applicable state and federal law, and the appropriate counsel arrangements.
Start with what happened
Tell us the basics
Share the name of the bank or company, your state, and a short description of the problem. Keep account numbers and sensitive documents out of the initial message.
We review the dispute
We assess the issue, the company's response, and whether there may be a legal claim. Keep your statements, dispute letters, responses, and a timeline available for any follow-up.
Discuss the next step
If we can help, we explain the proposed representation, fees, and next steps. Depending on the claim and account agreement, a matter may proceed in court or arbitration.
Questions about suing a bank
Do you help consumers nationwide?
Yes. We review unauthorized-charge matters nationwide and work with local or co-counsel where required. Whether we can represent you depends on the particular matter.
My bank denied my dispute. Does that mean I have a lawsuit?
Not necessarily. We need to review what happened, what you reported, and how the bank handled it. A denial can be a reason to seek a review, but it is not proof of a legal violation.
What if I sent the money myself after being scammed?
Tell us that when you contact us. A payment you authorized may be treated differently from a transfer someone made without your permission. We do not promise that every scam loss can be recovered.
What if my account agreement requires arbitration?
The agreement may affect where and how a claim can proceed. We review arbitration provisions as part of evaluating the matter.

We focus on consumer claims against banks, lenders, debt collectors, and credit and background-check companies. We generally don’t handle auto-dealer fraud, defending collection lawsuits, business or merchant disputes, credit repair, or privacy claims without concrete financial harm.
